A DULL park wall has been livened up with graffiti art by youngsters during a summer holiday scheme.
Members of the St George's Youth project transformed the wall at Shroggs Park, Lee Mount, Halifax, into a colourful and inspiring display of art.

The project was a success thanks to a £3,000 grant from Calderdale Council's youth service and small grants scheme.

Sara Holroyd, senior youth worker, said 20 youngsters, aged eight to 20, got involved in the community work through the Friends of Shroggs park, which is supported by the Ovenden Initiative.

"One of the aims during the redevelopment of the park was for young people to have some community involvement. We took that on board and formed the St George's Youth Project.

"We discussed how to graffiti the wall and ensured it was community-friendly and that other people would relate to it.

"One young man painted a police officer with the slogan "I am watching you", to represent the community police presence.
