THE Olympics came to Halifax as youngsters jumped, ran and bounced their way to sporting victory.
Children came together at Spring Hall Athletics Track, Halifax, to compete in a mini-Olympics day.

After spending time in lessons finding out about the history of the Olympics and the design of athletes' kits, the pupils from St John's Primary, Clifton, St Andrew's Juniors, Brighouse, St Chad's Primary, Hove Edge, and Withinfields Primary, Sou-thowram, competed in 16 different events.

Teams of Year 6 pupils in shirts representing different countries – including Australia, Thailand, Finland and Swaziland – took part in relays using bouncing balls, slalom, hopscotch, skipping and space hoppers.

Pupils from each school were in each team to give them a chance to meet before they join Brighouse High school in September.
