A frenzy of funnymen

Comedy Night,
Victoria Theatre.
IF Halifax has a reputation for being rambunctious on a Friday evening, you might expect the Victoria Theatre to be one oasis of calm.
Except when a standing room-only audience in the Green Room Bar is being whipped into a boisterous frenzy by three comedians.
At 22, Sean Walsh is but a baby and his material of booze, bouncers and burned toast misfires occasionally. But when his shambolic stumbling hits the mark he has the audience in howls.
Headliner Mitch Benn, a larger-than-life geek with a little guitar, is a man of many talents combining comedy songs with just pure comedy.
Some good old-fashioned Leeds-bashing goes down especially well.
But the night belongs to compere Charlie Baker.
A force of Stephen Merchant personality in the body of Jack Black, he's a whirlwind of wisecracks, a Devonian del-ight of schoolboy enthusiasm and studied sarcasm. All in oversized jeans and too tight suit jacket.
"Support live comedy," he implores at the end.
You really should.
