Met Office issues weather warning for rain
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for rain this afternoon (Friday).
The “yellow warning” for residents to be aware is valid from 3pm to 11.45pm.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Scattered heavy, thundery showers are likely to develop across parts of northern England this afternoon then extend down into the northeast Midlands this evening.
“The public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding.”
