THREE men have appeared in court char-ged with the murder of Elland man Billy Shah-gehan Khan.
Mohammed Muftah Fazal Ul Haq, 39, of Elizabeth Street, Elland, Kayshan Farooq, 28, and Mohammed Farooq, 50, both of Langdale Street, Elland, spoke only to confirm their names.
They are also charged with the attempted murder of Mr Khan's brother, Yusuf Khan, 29.
Kayshan Farooq and Ul Haq also face a charge of witness intimidation.
A plea and case management hearing will be held on January 30 and a trial, expected to last three weeks, has been fixed for April 20.
Mr Khan, 33, of Rosebery Street, Elland, was fatally stabbed on August 29 with what is thought to have been a machete or samurai sword.
The father-of-three died on the way to hospital after the attack at Catherine Street, Elland.
No bail applications were made on behalf of the accused who were assisted by an interpreter during the 10- minute hearing yesterday.
Mohammed Farooq, whose arm was in a sling, is expected to apply for bail before a judge in chambers later this week.
Judge Stephen Gullick, the Recorder of Bradford, told them: " I remand you in custody until further order."
