A HALIFAX man has admitted downloading child porn.
Gary Binns, 24, of Ovenden Road, Ovenden, pleaded guilty to four charges of possessing indecent images of children.

Jonathan Devlin, prosecuting, said the images were not very explicit and Binns had been trying to download adult porn from the internet.

He said Binns had come across the pictures by mistake. Binns was conditionally discharged for 12 months and his name will go on the Sex Offender Register for a year.

He was due to stand trial on two rape charges but the prosecution withdrew them due to lack of evidence.

Judge Roger Scott told Binns at Bradford Crown Court: "You are going to have to be very careful in the future to stay on the right side of the law."
