Haugh Shaw Road,
Halifax.
I READ with interest Edwin Turner's letter on petrol prices ("Keeping an eye on petrol prices", Your say, June 30).
Regarding financial matters, why does the Courier's Business Daily page no longer feature share prices, exchange rates etc?
Over the last few weeks these topics have been missing; I feel sure a return of these data and the inclusion of national business topics would be welcomed by your readers to supplement the local information, particularly in these times of financial instability.
Alan Brearley

  • Sorry to hear you are missing the shares information, Mr Brearley.

  • Because of the volatility of the stock market we often found that share prices had greatly changed between pages leaving us and the printed paper going on sale, so much so as to make our service unreliable. – Editor.

The REAL reason Mr Brearley is because Johnston Press's share price - the owner of the Courier - has slumped from over 400p 12 months ago to 33p now!

And I thought I was the only one to notice!

And the new owner is...a Malaysian billionaire asset stripper.

Mr Ed. must be nervous.

33p? I might dig in my pockets and buyout the Courier
