BRIAN Hanwell
(Your say, September 1) asks Paul Campbell if he believes our crime levels, our pitiful state pensions, our failing health service and our general standard of living would all improve to levels approaching the rest of Europe if we were to withdraw.
Given that we have been in Europe since 1973, by his own admission of the above it hasn't benefited us, has it?
