IT'S scary when you know that back in 2003 US defence secretary, General William Boykin said of the Iraq war: "The enemy isn't physical, its spiritual, he's a guy called Satan."
Frightening, that, Sarah Palin, who could have her finger on the nuclear button, shares similar fundamentalist views and horrific, knowing that right-wing Christian groups look forward to a third world war, because they believe that Jesus will transport them to heaven on a sunbeam, pensioners go free. God help the world from Christian loonies.

Eric Firth

For Gods sake Fiona learn some theology. Is Eric a non-believer or a Satanist? and if you don't believe in Satan, don't worry, Christ did.
Personally I don't believe in either, but hey...

Mr Firth, this is wrong on so many levels it's hard to know where to start. Firstly, contrary to popular belief, no president has the proverbial 'finger on the nuclear button' -certainly not a prospective VICE president. Secondly, regardless of how 'right wing' US Christian groups are, i'm struggling to find a single example of one taking it upon themselves to kill non-believers in a foreign land in the name of their religion. Thirdly, i'm still searching for a substantiated account of their 'desire' to start a third World War based on a belief that they will ascend to heaven atop a magical sunbeam. Perhaps you could elaborate?

Mr Firth, your constant criticism of Western religion, while sometimes justified, is as rabid, judgemental, ill-informed and ignorant as you purport your subject matter to be. There are bigger threats from extremist religion, but you have stayed oddly quiet on that, choosing instead to go for the 'easy' target, which allows and accepts your criticism.

"God help the world from Christian loonies?" -God help the world from Eric Firth and his narrow-minded ilk, more like.

It never ceases to amaze me the abject rubbish spouted by Eric Firth.
As he's attacked Christians, will he now attack the cruelty and backwardness of fundamentalist Islam...or hasn't he the guts to attack anything other than the easiest targets
