WAS there any need for such a vitriolic attack on Victoria Beckham by the self-styled critic Clarrie Shaw (Your say, October 6)?
Does Mr Shaw know this woman personally? She has made her own way in life and done very well for herself, from a working-class background to the top.

Victoria has a grand family and a good marriage, where other celebrities partnerships are falling apart, her and David's is getting better.

Clarrie Shaw finishes his attack by having a go at David Beckham calling him overrated as a man and a footballer.

David Beckham stands out as one of the greats of modern football with over 100 caps for England and still playing for them. As a man, David Beckham is a gentleman. Have we every heard him say a bad word about anyone?

Is Clarrie genuinely criticising or is it the green-eyed monster talking!

R Stephenson

Well said Mr/Mrs/Miss Stephenson.

My thoughts exactly, when I read the uncalled for character assassination on these webpages.

Ryburn / Fiona

I said she hasn't cost you anything at all - you can tell from the way you dress that it all comes from charity shops - which you frequent in between your private hire and big issue selling in Leeds

@4, YOU haven't spent 50 billion, you'll never see that much in 100 lifetimes. The government has spent that money on behalf of the country, of which all citizens have a stake, even those who don't pay tax! And it is very likely that the government will make a profit from this bailout, as they should quite rightly do. I suggest you try looking for the true story behind the media sensationalism rather than just believing what they put in front of you like the automaton the authorities want you to be.
