Rob's in the Doghouse

Halifax music promoters reckon they have a scoop tonight with The Voluntary Butler Scheme, Calderdale band Modeliste and falsetto duo Ophelia on the bill at the Doghouse.
Rob Jones, 22, from Stourbridge – aka The Voluntary Butler Scheme – takes a wry look at life's shortcomings with a selection of abstract songs.
Rob's inauguration as a solo artist was inspired – albeit indirectly – by fellow Midlander Pato Banton. Under the misapprehension that collaboration with Pato Banton might be on the cards, Rob wrote and recorded an album's worth of songs. When the partnership failed to materialise, Rob set about filling in the gaps with his harmonica and The Voluntary Butler Scheme was born.
Modeliste, from Luddenden Foot, are Ben Adey, Ross McOwen and Benjamin Guy Stevens III.
Ophelia are described as "a male duo that produces simple yet emotive and imposing electronica with haunting falsetto vocals".
Admission to tonight's Doghouse music session is £5/£4, upstairs at the Royal Oak, Clare Road, Halifax.
