Mirth... and murder

THE nights are drawing in and Hebden Bridge Little Theatre are planning an extra chill in the air with their autumn production of the comedy thriller Curtain Up On Murder by Bettine Manktelow.
The play follows the misfortunes of an amateur drama group who, during a routine rehearsal in a seaside theatre, find themselves locked in while a thunder storm rages outside. The gothic atmosphere helps expose the various conflicts in their relationships and the tension increases as one by one the actors meet sticky ends.
There is something decidedly fishy going on at the end of the pier. Who will be the last actor standing and what is their motive for the murders?
Making their acting debuts at the theatre are Amanda Whitaker and Lucy Landale-Povey, joined by David Gunning, Justine Geraghty, Hannah Stow, Sharon Kelly, Chris Berry and John Sunderland.
Curtain Up On Murder runs from Monday until Saturday (7.30pm). Tickets are available from Innovation Hebden Bridge (tel: 01422 843907).
