A PHENOMENAL weekend of entertainment sees two top acts blaze into Halifax.
Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle _ one of the hottest properties on the circuit _ brings his hit live show to the Victoria Theatre tomorrow for a night of sharp comedy and explosive stand-up.

The sell-out gig is followed on Sunday by the return of rockers Status Quo, celebrating 40 years of hits with an extensive tour of the UK.

In the last three years, Frankie Boyle has propelled himself into the premier league of comedy with a host of brilliant performances both on stage and screen, including every episode of TV's Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats, plus appearances on Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie To You and They Think It's All Over.

Alongside his work in front of the camera, Frankie Boyle is also respected as a highly accomplished writer. He has written for several series including 8 Out of 10 Cats, the UK version of Live Floor Show, 2DTV and 29 Minutes of Fame.

Legends of the rock world Status Quo make a welcome return to the Victoria Theatre, with another huge audience awaiting a very special concert milestone.

Their latest show, Pictures – 40 Years of Hits, is a collection of Quo's iconic music that spans their incredible chart career, which started 40 years ago with the Pictures of Matchstick Men single.

One of the world's most enduring and successful live acts, the mighty Quo have influenced a generation of musicians and entertained millions with their driving, no-nonsense brand of rock. Pictures – 40 Years of Hits offers Quo's army of fans the chance to experience their magic at first hand.

There are still some tickets left for Sunday's gig, which starts at 7.30pm _ £31.50 plus £1.50 booking fee per ticket _ from the theatre box office, tel: on 01422 351158.
