Emley Moor 28 - Elland 26
(Division One)

Elland came up just short against a Moor side making it four wins out of four this season, Phil Taylor missing a chance to level the scores with a late penalty.
The home side took an early lead with a penalty but a good Elland attack ended with Liam Manning scoring an unconverted try.
Another penalty brought Emley back level before Manning scored his second, Taylor adding the conversion.
It was all Emley i
n the next 20 minutes as Glenn Holdsworth crossed twice and Karl Adamski added two conversions and a penalty for a half time score of 18-10 to the hosts.
Elland opened well in the second half with Manning completing his hat trick. Strong play resulted in Stevie Taylor side-stepping his way over and a Taylor conversion put Elland 20-18 in front.
However, poor defending resulted in Elland conceding two tries in 10 minutes from Glenn Holdsworth and Jason Southwell, Adamski adding one conversion. The impressive Ben Fairbank powered over for a try five minutes from time and with Taylor converting it left Elland two points behind.
Emley then conceded a penalty but Taylor was unable to give the visitors what would have been a deserved point.

Silsden Park Rangers 10 - Halifax Irish A 50
(Division Five)

Irish continued their impressive start to the season with a 10 try demolition of Rangers.
The opposition had no answer to powerful debutant Scott Bradley and elusive centre Michael Meade, who repeatedly tore holes in the defence.
With Gavin Petifor leading the forward charge Irish looked in unstoppable form.
Young half-back pairing Macaulay Nortcliffe and Ben Copley again caught the eye, pulling the strings in midfield, and Hamish Barnes and Bradley Deighton showed maturity beyond their 16 years.
Scott Bradley led the way in the try scoring stakes with a hat-trick, including a length of the field effort.
Speedy centre Michael Meade crossed the whitewash twice with further tries coming from veterans Martin Kipping and Craig Norman. Teenagers Hamish Barnes, Andrew Eames and Petifor added to the tally but the kickers generally had an off day with Michael Meade converting three and Nortcliffe one.
