Halifax got off to a solid start on their return to National Division One.
Playing in their first tournament of the season in Manchester, they got off to a flyer with a 7-1 victory over Manchester, then beat Farnham 9-0 and were unlucky to go down 7-3 to Plymouth.
A decision to rule out a Rick Jones goal which would have made the game 4-4, initially awarded by both referees, was the turning point against Plymouth.
Halifax then conceded two goals in quick succession to put the game beyond doubt.
Tom Wallis, who stood in as captain when a back injury forcing regular skipper Mark Jones out of action five minutes into the first game, was delighted with the performances.
"The lads did exceptionally well," he said.
"Every member of the team managed to grab a goal or two and Chris Jones looks to have regained the form that made him one of the top goalkeepers in the country a few years ago.
Halifax head to Bury St Edmunds for the next tournament on November 2.
