Halifax 2 - Lincoln 2
(Yorkshire Premier)
Halifax collected their first point of the season against a strong Lincoln side but again let a two-goal advantage slip.
Halifax lacked key players Martyn Boyle, Leigh Walker and Richard Marshall but youngsters Josh Foreman and Michael Jones played major parts in a very encouraging first half display. The experienced Luke Greenwood and Jonathon Sutcliffe made their first starts of the season
Matthew Pinder's men took the lead after Damien Reynolds, man of the match for the second game running, fed Matthew Graham with an inch perfect pass, Graham converting from the narrowest of angles.
Lincoln rarely troubled a solid defence and the hosts looked well set at half time.
Halifax were then boosted by another goal of the season contender, this time through smart link up play from the back involving Gareth Parry and Pinder, who found Reynolds clear on the right. Reynolds jinked into the D before smashing an unstoppable shot past the stranded Lincoln keeper.
As the home side began to tire, Lincoln grabbed a goal from a short corner after the defence failed to react to Matthew Metcalfe's short corner save.
Minutes later Lincoln were level, again from a short corner that Halifax failed to clear.
As the game drew to a close Halifax grabbed a penalty following a foul on Graham, but the Halifax striker put his effort too close to the keeper.
At the other end tempers flared following a clash involving Graham and a Lincoln forward and in the melee that followed the umpire missed Metcalfe's foul on a Lincoln player which should have resulted in another penalty in the final minute.

Hull III 5 - Halifax II 0
(Yorkshire Two)
MUCH-CHANGED Halifax battled hard and trailed only 1-0 at half time before running out of steam.
The new faces looked impressive from the start as Halifax placed their hosts under constant pressure.
Hard work from Bryn Hans and Nick Barker helped James Smith created a good opportunity for Andy Moriarty, who just shot wide.
Hull came more into the game and after a series of short corners they scored from a rebound after a good save from keeper Richard Cox.
The second half was a different story and Halifax could not keep hold of the ball.
Constant pressure resulted in a further four Hull goals but Halifax did show promise in spite of the final scoreline.

Halifax III 7 - Huddersfield V 1
(Yorkshire Eight)
HALIFAX thirds are often tough to beat but rarely turn their superiority into goals.
That changed on Saturday after they had played second fiddle to the visitors for the first 10 minutes.
Phil Green and team newcomer Benedict Barron cut a path through Huddersfield's defence and Benedict Barron accurately drove home.
Halifax piled on the pressure and Dave Wheatley received a great pass from Aidan Crowe and scored with ease.
John Barnfather scored with a flamboyant one-handed shot and then set up Ross Green, who took the ball past two defenders and made it 4-0 at the break.
Barnfather got his second and streaked down the wing before putting in a perfect pass for Daz Cotterell to score.
Chris Reynolds was helping to limit Huddersfield attacks and a goal from Ross Green in the last five minutes completed a highly satisfactory performance. Barron was man of the match.

Brigg IV 0 - Halifax IV 3
(Yorkshire Nine)

THE Quibbel Stadium, with its smooth, fast surface covered with multi-coloured lines, has not been a happy hunting ground for Halifax.
But they bucked the trend after youngster Sam Spencer had justified his inclusion with two finely taken goals in the first 10 minutes.
His opener was a typical poacher's goal from close in, the second a crisp shot from a skilful dribble.
The visitors were on fire with Nigel Bowers influential in midfield and well supported by Lee Chapman, Mike Dransfield and son Ryan on the right wing.
Before Brigg could recover, Bowers centred from the left for Dransfield junior to slide into an empty net.
Play became more even but Steve Hammond was his usual calm, assured self.
Halifax missed chances at the start of the second half and Brigg posed more of a threat, getting one back.
But good stops from Jack Gardner in goal and a goal line clearance from Dave Manning kept the two-goal gap.

Normanby Park III 5 - Halifax V 3
(Yorkshire 10)

HALIFAX came up against an East Yorkshire side containing a couple of very useful players for the standard and one of them opened the scoring with a fine reverse stick hit.
Halifax responded positively with Richard Tordoff urging the team forward. From short corners, Jake Gledhill scrambled in two goals.
After the break the quality of the home side began to tell and they scored three times without reply while skipper Stephen Lapworth was off.
Despite Oliver James working hard in midfield to support Tordoff and Ben Greenwood penetrating well on the right, Brigg scored a cracker from the edge of the D with keeper Matthew Breton motionless.
Halifax kept pressing and scored a third at the end.
