HALIFAX fans will have to wait until next week to discover the make up of the new club's playing squad and backroom staff.
Boss Jim Vince is working hard on his plans for the club's first season in Unibond League Division One North.
And he had been hoping that there might have been some news before the weekend.
But despite speculation linking the likes of former Shaymen Paul Stoneman and Neil Ross and ex-Nottingham Forest frontman Nigel Jemson, possibly as the manager's number two, with the new club, it now appears that supporters will have to wait a little longer than had been first thought.
One major stumbling block is that the new club is still waiting for confirmation of the name under which the team will play next season.
The club has to have the approval of the West Riding County FA which they have yet to receive.
Courier Sport understands that without a name, no player can sign.
Vince clearly has his sights set on particular targets as he aims to build a squad capable of competing at the top end of the division.
"It is going to be difficult this year. There are some hard teams in the league and some hard areas in which you have to go and perform," said Vince.
"We have to be flexible to every situation and ensure we give a good account of ourselves.
"If we do that then we are going to have a good season."
Vince's first game in charge of Halifax will pitch him against former boss Chris Wilder's new employers Bury.
The League Two outfit have announced that they will be playing a friendly at the Shay on Tuesday, July 22.
It is likely to be the Halifax club's only home friendly before the league campaign gets underway on August 16.
Unibond League Premier Division Ashton United have announced a friendly with Halifax for Saturday, August 2.
The game will be at the Manchester side's Hurst Cross ground and Town fans are likely to see a former favourite in the opposition ranks.
Ian Fitzpatrick, who made 87 league appearances for the Shaymen - 49 of which were in Division Three - was the club's leading scorer last season.
Former Grays Athletic midfielder Ernie Cooksey has died aged 28 after losing his battle against cancer.
