GYMNASTICS

Members of Halifax's Diamonds Gym Club adult class made a long and tortuous trip to Ipswich and were very well rewarded.
In the over-40s women's artistic section, Julie Brumby performed superbly on the floor, beam and vault to secure the gold medal.
Shirley Hendry hit double top in the over-50s category, taking gold in both the women's artistic and the trampolining classes.
There were silver medals for Rachel Allinson, Jen Robinson and Carla Sheldon who performed an excellent, crowd pleasing routine in the acro women's two competition.
Helen Smithies picked up the bronze medal in the over-30s trampolining class.
