Ziggy's A Star Cars Halifax Sunday League

King Cross belatedly begin their assault on the West Riding County Cup tomorrow following the postponement of their match against Bolton Woods last Sunday.

In a tough ask, King Cross will be buoyed by the performance of their reserve side who edged past Bolton Woods' reserve team into the third round of the Sunday Trophy last week.
Another side hoping to make it through to the third round is Bradshaw. They beat Norman in the first round six days ago and are now at home to Horsforth Town.
In the league, Premier Division leaders Spring Gardens will be looking to extend their 100 per cent record as they host a Royal Hotel side still looking for a first league win.
However, recent performances will have pleased Royal manager Bev Fielding. They only succumbed 7-5 to all-powerful Elland two weeks ago before progressing in the West Riding Cup at the expense of a decent outfit.
Second placed Elland could move into top spot if Spring falter and they beat an FC Bowling Green side still looking to find some consistency. Bowling will be looking to repeat their performance in April, when they beat the champions by the odd goal in five.
Third placed Southowram will want to extend their good start but face tough opposition in the form of unbeaten Greetland.
A run of three consecutive league draws has seen Greetland fall off the pace and they will want to secure all three points.
The final two fixtures could prove to be important come the end of the season as the two of the three promoted sides, Halifax Phoenix and Mount Tabor face each other, whilst the other top section newcomers, Hollins Holme, host a Brandy Wine side who narrowly avoided relegation last time.
Three sides lie in joint top spot in Division One, each having taken nine points from their opening matches.
However, whilst Shoulder Royd have lost two of their five matches , both Stirk Bridge and Ovenden Amateurs have yet to lose.
Stirk face a tough match as they take on unbeaten Copley Town tomorrow, whilst Ovenden travel to a Falcon Pine side who will be disappointed not to be challenging for top spot themselves.
Having played two games more than their rivals, it is not surprising that Shoulder are without a game. Halifax Rangers are also without a game and will remain in last spot.
Second from bottom Carrington Rangers can count themselves unlucky not to be better positioned as the two games they have lost have both been by the odd goal in seven. They travel to fourth placed Jacks Bar tomorrow looking to shore up a defence that has conceded 17 goals in five matches.
The division's only other match features two sides who would hope to be pushing for promotion come the end of the season as Bradshaw Phoenix travel to a Halifax Hammers side who were relegated from the top flight last term.
In Division Two, leaders Jacks Bar Reserves travel to Oddfellows looking for the win that would keep them on top, whilst second placed FC Champs look to bounce back from their first defeat of the season last weekend.
They host local rivals and fourth placed side Engineers, and with both sides harbouring promotion ambitions, this is a crucial game.
Waiters Arms, currently third, are one of only two sides with a 100 per cent record in this division and they travel to a Halifax Rangers Reserves side still looking for a victory.
Queens Road are the other team with maximum points, and they host a Stubbing Wharf outfit looking for the win that would keep them in touch with the leaders.
