AND then there were two.
A day when the league programme was all but decimated by the atrocious weather saw the list of Premier Division title contenders reduced from a quartet to a pair, with only Booth and Warley still retaining hopes of lifting the trophy after the final round of games next Saturday.
The duo were among the handful of sides who did manage to beat the rain and get onto the field, and though the early evening downpours ensured neither were able to complete their games, each gleaned three precious bonus points.
And the fact that Booth edged to 137 points was enough to put them out of reach of Saturday's opponents Triangle and outsiders Sowerby Bridge, whose title hopes were ended when their home clash against Old Crossleyans was washed out and the two points they gained were not enough to keep them in with a sniff of glory.
So it is between the two, and it promises to be a fascinating final day with Booth hosting Sowerby Bridge and Warley at home to SBCI, knowing victory is surely a must as they attempt to make up a four point deficit.
Booth perhaps owe a debt of gratitude to Triangle for their work in getting their venue playable, efforts which included roping off the worst affected section of the ground, making their pocket sized ground even tighter.
With such short boundaries, Booth knew they had to post a challenging total, and they tried their best to do so, shrugging off the early loss of skipper Jim Mosley to race to 80 for one in just nine overs with Matthew Brown and Ian Sharkey in great form.
But a tight spell by Peter Madden and the loss of Brown for 44 slowed things down and though Sharkey eventually made 72, the visitors were grateful of a 17 run haul from the final over which was bowled by Kurtis Whippey which hauled them to 198 for six.
Sadly, that was pretty much that as after just one delivery of Triangle's reply, the heavens opened and curtailed any further play and also Triangle's title challenge as their two point haul was not enough to keep them in the hunt.
It was a broadly similar story at Copley, where Warley racked up an impressive 215 on another ground where a waterlogged area was roped off.
Skipper Michael Midwood made 55, John Rawson 58 and Jimmy Sarwar an unbeaten 51, while Richard Turner took four for 43 for the home side.
In reply, Copley made 46 without loss before the rains came, and they now face a last day showdown at fellow strugglers Sowerby St Peters, whose game at Northowram Hedge Top did not start, with the losers certain to follow doomed Bradshaw through the relegation trapdoor.
The basement boys were involved in the only other game to start, a 30 over clash at SBCI, who made 108 for six with Alex Kaye contributing 35 and Chris Dalby 30, with Simon Collins taking four for 39.
Bradshaw were handily placed on 80 for three when the rains came.
