IT is a red letter day for Stainland Lions on Saturday, July 12 as the thriving running club, which currently boasts 350 members, celebrate their 20th birthday.
And to mark the occasion, they are inviting all members, past and present, to join in a special non-competitive fun event taking the form of a loose combination of the club's three main annual events, the 10 mile off road 'Bluebell Trail,' the Stainland 7' road race and the three mile Boxing Day fun run.
All past and present Lions are welcome at the club's headquarters, Heath RUFC at West Vale, for 8.30am to run the Bluebell Trail, with the Stainland 7 race following on at 11.45, again from Heath and finishing at the Red Lion, Stainland.
The fun run will conclude the day's runs starting from the Red Lion at 1.15 pm.
Runners are welcome to join in on one or all of the runs as they wish, and the celebrations will continue into the evening back at Heath, with food and dancing to a live band in the marquee.
Tickets for the evening function priced £5 are available by email from jon@pridge.co.uk or by calling 07905 261156.
