JIM Vince is ready for the challenge of re-establishing senior football in Halifax after being named the first manager of the re-formed club.
But rather than dwelling on the past, the 41-year-old former Witton Albion chief wants to look to the future.
And if he can get it right, the rewards could be high.
"It is a massive opportunity to be involved in a club with a lot of potential," he said. "It is probably at the lowest it has ever been.
"It is a case of restarting and progressing forward up the pyramid.
"Hopefully I will be a big part of that."
Vince's first major test is to build a squad from scratch with little more than six weeks to go before the Unibond League Division One North season gets underway.
And negotiations are already taking place with several players he has targeted to begin the campaign.
"We knew the timescale involved would be tight and it is just a case of getting on with it," he said.
"From my perspective it is a matter of getting a squad together to start the season that will give a good account of itself.
"The team that starts will not necessarily be the team that finishes the season. It will evolve and it will get better.
"But it is important that we consolidate initially and give a good account of ourselves on a weekly basis.
"If we do that it will give us a platform to kick on.
"There are a lot of points to be won and from my perspective and the team's perspective, we want to give the supporters an indication of what direction we are going in."
Having steered Witton to runners-up spot in the Unibond Premier for the last two seasons, Vince clearly knows what kind of player it takes to succeed at the level the new Halifax club finds itself at.
"You have to bring in the right players," he said. "You could go and get 20 players from a higher level of football and pay them extreme amounts of money, but there are no guarantees they will perform for you on the pitch.
"What I have to do over the coming weeks is identify the right players who can come here and commit to the overall objective.
"If I can bring in the people I am hoping to do, people will be happy."

Good luck to Jim - these are uncertain times for the Shaymen, but also exciting times. An opportunity to grow; hopefully the structure will be sorted soon allowing Town to flourish.
