CROW Nest Park GC hosted a poignant staging of Halifax, Huddersfield & District Rabbit Golf Association's Committee Cup this week.
The trophy was donated by former HHDRGA President Roger Heap during his year in office in 1978, and as he sadly passed away in August, it was an emotional occasion, and fittingly, an excellent day's golf unfolded in wonderful weather.

GA President John Turner, who was drawn out in the same group as seven times winner Derek Fryer, came out as victor on his own course
Alvan Linley of Crosland Heath finished second with 30 points with Saddleworth's Tony Taylor, last year's president, third with 27 points.
Crow Nest Park also hosted its own Scratch Championship and Handicap Cup, in which difficult pin positions, punishing rough and fast greens tested the club's elite players, with Chris Mowl's two over par 72 earning him victory in the Scratch Championship and 12 handicapper Paul McVey's net 72 landing him the Handicap Cup.
Scratch Championship: 1 Chris Mowl 72, 2 Steve Smith 76 (2nd on countback), 3 Duncan Lambert 76.
Handicap Cup: 1 Paul McVey gross 84, net 72, 2 Darren Hartley gross 87, net 74 (2nd on countback), 3 Gary Broadbent gross 86, net 74.
