One of the main misconceptions when playing into the wind is that you need to hit the ball harder.
In actual fact the reverse is true as by doing so you create more spin, sending the ball higher.

So the old saying 'Swing with ease when into the breeze' works perfectly.

This reduces spin and sends the ball through the wind better.
Also when putting, it is hard to maintain balance and therefore harder to retain a smooth consistent putting stroke.

To combat the wind in this instance you need to widen your stance to keep your balance and make your stroke smoother.
