AROUND 100 dancers celebrated the third anniversary party of a "Rock `n` Roll" club.

Jive Time at Bankfield Social Club, Elland, is proving an increasingly popular Wednesday night out.

"It has gone from strength-to-strength," said organiser Wendy Carson.

"Dancing has gained more popularity due to TV shows like Strictly Come Dancing.

"People seem to prefer to prefer to go out and do something rather than just have a drink, and we charge just £3."

Every Wednesday 60-70 dancers attend club nights and range from youngsters to pensioners.

And they are now dancing on an oak dance floor which is much more suitable after funds were raised to replace a tiled floor.
