The annual body-beautiful panic has begun. But a new spa has the perfect pre-bikini body workout so stay calm...

IF pasty skin and less-than toned limbs has left you wishing you could put summer on hold, take some consolation that you are not alone.
Women across the country have had to shun their thick tights and jumpers to begrudgingly reveal the effects of winter. And even skinny minny celebrities like Mischa Barton and Gwyneth Paltrow have been snapped sporting the dreaded dimple effect of cellulite.

What most of us need is a quick boost of confidence before we hit the beach. But you don't have to take up residence in a gym to achieve it. Instead try the cheats guide to getting a sexy beach-ready body at Calderdale's biggest and most luxurious spa, at The Ministry of Hair & Beauty in Bolton Brow, Sowerby Bridge.

The spa boasts everything you need to look your best on the beach. It's like having a health farm on your doorstep because once you walk through the door and snuggle up in one of the dressing gowns provided, your troubles just seem to float away.

Dozens of women have already become members, while others have spent an enjoyable evening or day there trying out all the latest machines and treatments. They range from a detox box that burns up to 600 calories, helps break down cellulite and fat, boosts the immune system and gives you a natural high, to a steam bath and jacuzzi where you wallow in water while at the same time your blood flow is stimulated to improve skin tone.

Then there is the newly-crowned all-singing, all-dancing solarium. A stand up sunbed which not only gives you a tan but a gym workout at the same time, it can help you lose weight, change your body shape and get rid of dreaded cellulite. It also strengthens muscles and helps relax you.

Four full-time therapists can offer every holiday treatment imaginable from getting rid of unwanted hair using the latest IPL machine, waxing or threading (therapist Falguni Ehavda has been threading for 12 years and is one of only a handful of therapists offering it in Calderdale), to an exotic lime and ginger salt glow scrub that removes dead skin, leaving a smooth and soft base.

The spa specialises in holding back the years with three machines for the face. There is a non-surgical face lift along with Crystal Clear and oxygen, which all give instant results. Manicures and pedicures are available along with holistic treatments such as Indian head massage and reflexology. There are also showers and a chill-out room with free drinks, making it ideal for pamper parties for groups of friends. The organiser goes free for parties of eight or more.

Owner Michelle Shea said the beauty of the spa was that women could try lots of treatments under one roof, use the spa facilities to relax and get their hair done, before going home.

The spa, which uses Elemis products, is open seven days a week with lots of late nights. Holiday offers include a half-leg, bikini and underarm wax, a lash tint and pedicure for £40. A Crystal Clear and oxygen facial with French manicure or pedicure for £50.
